Raft Echo Canyon with Royal Gorge Rafting, Royal Gorge Vacation Rentals & the White Water Bar & Grill!

Echo Canyon rafting is a family friendly adventure trip that can be shared with every age range which makes it the perfect mild yet exciting adventure outing for Family Reunions and Groups of all ages.

The location of Echo Canyon gains its name from the spacious canyon situated north of the Arkansas River, seen from this location along the river. This canyon was created by an ancient volcano that literally "blew it's top!" creating a Caldera: A Caldera is a collapse that is triggered by the emptying of the magma chamber beneath the volcano, typically the result of a large volcanic eruption.

Rafting with Royal Gorge Rafting through Echo Canyon also known as the popular the Bighorn Sheep Canyon allows you to see the magnificent views of this ancient caldera. The vantage point by way of the river is amazing and second to none. Your view from the "ARK" (Arkansas River) into Echo Canyon is from an elevation of 6200 feet at the rivers edge to the top of the caldera at 9200 feet. The Caldera is currently known as Table Mountain which stretches east to west from Parkdale of the Arkansas River near the Royal Gorge Valley Ranch about 30 miles to the Texas Creek region of the Arkansas River.

Colorado Rafting

Some of the finest white water rafting worldwide is in Colorado

Those that have rafted rivers around the world know that some of the greatest experiences can be found within the rivers of Colorado. The various terrain and climatic regions that Colorado has within its borders creates an amazing array of beautiful & scenic river trips to be had, from exhilarating world-class whitewater to calming and serene float trips.

Colorado's geography creates amazing white water rafting

Many rivers flow out of Colorado from the snow capped peaks of the immense Continental Divide providing much of the watershed for the eastern and western United States.

The Arkansas River flows 1450 miles from the 14,000 ft Collegiate peaks within the Colorado Rockies, near to Leadville Colorado. The Arkansas is the #1 destination for whitewater rafting in the world, seeing up to 250,000 people in a summer. Because of the amount of ratable whitewater and serene stretches between it is still possible to be on the river with just you and your crew.

The Colorado River formerly the "Grand River" begins in Grand County Colorado, which is the namesake of the famous Grand Canyon. The Colorado River makes its way 1,450 miles to the Gulf of California and feeds the livelihood of many towns, the largest being Las Vegas, NV.

The Rio Grande also known as the Rio Bravo del Norte (in Mexico ) flows 1885 miles and begins its journey from the Sangre de Cristo mountain range in southern Colorado, providing watershed for New Mexico, and then following the border between Texas & Mexico until finding its way into the Gulf of Mexico.

A Colorado Experience

Colorado Whitewater is world renowned and is as classic as white water found anywhere in the world, this is held true by all of those who have experienced the thrill of floating down a river in Colorado and continue to come back to experience the unrivaled rush and relaxing moments that only a river can provide.

Many of the people that experience these rivers live outside of Colorado; it seems so often that when you are living in the midst of something so great it is easier to pass it on by.

If you call Colorado home, get out to experience first hand the beauty of what Colorado's rivers have to offer. You have a great opportunity before you by getting out and seeing some of the most unique places in the world that can only be seen by floating a river, some of the best of which are in Colorado!

Beauty, Intensity, Serenity and the most important resource we can share. Cool Cool Clean Colorado Water.
